BROWNS ENGLISH is a Kyoto-based language school. There are 5 schools in north part of Kyoto city. We offer English lessons for children, adults, and families, focusing on communication, enjoyment, and continuity.
Our teachers come from various countries, creating a friendly and international working environment.
In addition to regular classes, we host fun local and seasonal events, allowing both teachers and students to experience Kyoto life together.

Tom, originally from Ireland, is a warm
and energetic teacher who loves connecting with people.
He believes that motivated students will achieve their goals. BROWNS ENGLISH teachers guide, encourage and support their ambition. Our aim is to enable students to become confident and fluent speakers.
About the Opportunity
Main Responsibilities
- Encourage and support students' motivation and growth
- Teach English to children, teens, and adults (small group or private lessons)
- Prepare lesson plans and materials suited to students' levels
- Join local and seasonal events (Halloween, Christmas, speech
contests, etc.)

All new teachers receive paid training before starting classes.

Work Schedule
Classes vary from preschoolers to family and senior lessons.
Teachers have regulary scheduled classes every week.
We will assign classes depending on our current needs, while taking your preferences into consideration.
Students, Classrooms, and Lessons
Our students range from young children to adults and families, learning in small, friendly classes.
Each classroom has a relaxed, community-oriented atmosphere where teachers can connect closely with students.
Lessons are typically held in the late afternoon and evening, with 3–4 classes per day on average.
Compensation
- Starting salary of ¥2000 per lesson
- Commuting costs reimbursed up to ¥1000yen per day.
